Functional Order: Ni-Fe-Ti-Se
Almost everything out of Ra’s’ mouth is a Ni-dom abstraction: “When a forest grows too wild, a purging fire is inevitable and natural”; “If you make yourself more than just a man, if you devote yourself to an ideal, you become something else entirely”; “The training is nothing! The will is everything!”; “Justice is balance,” etc. He has sharp, concise insights into Bruce’s psyche (“You fear your anger, the drive to do great or terrible things”), and a terrible, singular vision for Gotham (let it tear itself apart, and reveal its depravity to the world). “You must learn to mind your surroundings.” Ra’s had to learn it, Bruce should learn it too. Be more careful, Bruce… more calculated, more precise. Ra’s can hold his own in a fight and is highly skilled, but unable to react quickly when Bruce turns the tables on him. Bruce often catches him off guard, both in setting his house on fire and in stopping the train; Ra’s simply assumes that because his plan is in motion and flawless, Bruce cannot undermine it. He recruits, trains, and emotionally manipulates men to join his cause; he instills a sense of greater purpose in Bruce for his own ends (“we” can destroy Gotham), but also has a ruthless sense of external, objective justice – those who do wrong must face severe punishment; Gotham has become so vile and corrupt, it does not deserve to survive. Like Rome before it, like London, like all great civilizations, the League of Shadows will purge the city of its fire, by enabling its own citizens to act as the city executioners. Ra’s operates purely on emotional tactics; “you burned my house and left me for dead… we are even” (it’s more efficient [Te] to kill Bruce). His methods operate on a higher sense of ideal and a strong internal sense of punishment, rather than objective reasoning – his plan is brilliant, innovative, and cruel, all to serve his higher purpose (Ni) while not resolving the greater problems within Gotham (this simply creates chaos, and more pandemonium, which will escalate into a full-scale war zone).

Ra’s devotes his entire life to creating the vision of a perfect society – and that includes destroying Gotham from within. He is an idealist gone wrong, a moralist with a rigid black and white view of who deserves to live and die, and why he has the moral right to eradicate them. He even judges Bruce saving him as a form of weakness and pays him back in kind (“You burned my house and left me for dead…”). His 1 mentality of rigidity combined with his 9 wing, which distances himself from other people, enables him to have the mindset of a terrorist. His entire focus is on making other people—and society on the whole—more perfect. It also lends him anger and zeal, and makes him immune to seeing his own wickedness.
