MBTI Type: ESFJ
Stephanie focuses less on what she wants for herself, and more on what everyone else wants, and tries to accommodate them. She tries to suppress her tendency to over-apologize around Emily because it annoys her, she would rather talk to the children and help them get along than be angry at either of them (and she wants them to understand what is happening, why they did a bad thing, and dig into their feelings). She tells her online moms everything that is going on in her life, to draw them in and make them feel included in her family. But she is also meticulous, always looking for things to post to her vlog—recipes, home craft projects, etc. She tracks down all the details of Emily’s disappearance and finds the clues the police aren’t aware exist, including meeting her real parents and discovering the truth about her teenage years, because she has a vague sense that something is amiss. Stephanie is always looking for new ideas, and eagerly adopts them from people off the internet, running with them, doing her own thing with them, or turning them into a profitable sideline for her online presence (lower Ne). She looks for creative ways to use her intuition to make new things on her vlog. She is both idealistic and cautious, sometimes leaping into things before she thinks about them (in her relationships, is quick to fall in love, move in with a new guy, etc) and at other times, taking precautions to make sure she and her child are safe. She rarely thinks about what she is doing or asks questions of herself or her motivations.
Enneagram: 6w7
Stephanie is extremely helpful, eager to be accepted, and cheerful, but also confides in her “online moms” constantly in search of advice, easily starts to doubt someone once they plant suspicions in her mind, and can’t live with Emily’s disappearance without solving it. She breaks into her office, goes through her files, looks up on her computer, tracks her to camp, and when threatened, says she will expose Emily’s deeds to the cops. She tries to work with her rather than against her at first, but then becomes a pawn for the authorities and live-streams their confrontation over the internet so she has proof. She also has a wildly enthusiastic, optimistic side that is cheerful, eager to connect, and wants to try new things, but she defends her actions as her having “lots of sides” (when a cop catches her trying on Emily’s dress).
