ISFP 9w1 Characters
Kiri is highly sensitive to her own emotional states, and withdrawn from her companions in that she goes through most of her inner wounds on her own. When her father asks what’s wrong and if she misses her adopted brother, Kiri says that yes, she does, but that’s not what is bothering her—it’s that she doesn’t fit in here and cannot understand why she is so different and connected to the planet in ways that make her seem strange to the other children. Kiri is quite sharp-tongued and often expresses her feelings regardless of who is there who might get offended by them (telling the healer that she would use a different herb because it’s better and stings less, showing her contempt for her brothers’ behavior, and often going off alone). She shows strong Se in that she instantly adapts to a new environment; she is miles ahead of her siblings in getting into sync with the ocean and its creatures. Kiri learns how to hold her breath the longest faster than any of them and comes to know how to direct and control nature (she saves her mother’s life because of this). This ties into her low Ni sense of ‘knowing’ that there is something special in her gift and being able to tap into nature on an unconscious, deeper level the others lack. ISFPs are often talented in this respect. Her feelings lead to direct actions, followed by deeper insights. She can be blunt (threatening the general with her parents coming to “get him” after he kidnaps her).

Kiri is always telling her siblings to “stay calm” and “be calm,” that everything will turn out all right. She’s also so connected to the planet, she experiences the “universe” through herself. It troubles her she is so “weird” and does not “fit in” better than she does, showing how easily others can affect her thinking about herself (an attachment core). She ranges from brushing off things (rolling her eyes when her brothers get into fights) and asserting herself when others pull her tail. Kiri can be quite feisty, but also spend hours just examining a grain of sand on the ocean floor. She longs to be part of everything that she sees, and easily merges into her environment, showing deep sensitivity and emotions influenced by all living things. Kiri will sometimes lecture her siblings and threaten them with punishment if what they are doing is wrong (“you are going to be in so much trouble!”). She tells them to stop guessing who her father might be, and says if it’s who they guess it is, she will kill herself out of disgust. Overall, she is a gentle soul.
