Lo’ak MBTI & Enneagram | Avatar

ESFP 7w8 Characters

Lo’ak has a lot of emotions that cause him to leap into instant action; he gets excited to experience life and then goes for it, so he often gets into trouble. His adventurous spirit gets them captured by the general early in the story (and his defiance causes him to flip the man off with both hands), but also makes him attack someone for insulting his sister (even after his father said to behave in the camp), go beyond the reef to prove himself, and befriend a whale. This bond largely comes about because of a Fi connection; Lo’ak also feels alone and has no real friends, so he identifies with the whale because they are both misunderstood. His compassion leads him to free the creature from the harpoon stuck in its fin and wonder what caused the loss of his other fin. Lo’ak refuses to go along with what others say about this creature, standing up for him and going out to warn him about the risk of whale hunters even after his father tells him to remain in camp (“he’s an outcast, he won’t know!”). He often sasses back to his parents and other people and dismisses what they say if it’s not what he wants to do, but feels great remorse if any harm comes to anyone because of his impulsive behavior. Lo’ak usually has a rational plan, whether that involves falling back with his siblings to report the general’s position or figuring out how to use his sea creature to free the whale from a beacon, but is not good at long-term thinking. He has insights from time to time about who he can trust, though.

Lo’ak is fiercely opinionated and quick to stand up for himself. He refuses to listen to instructions and often does whatever he wants, even if his father told him not to (which allows him to rescue his sister and his friend the whale, but also gets his older brother killed because of his risk-taking). He has an adventurous spirit and a heated temper, but also a deep and abiding desire to protect his family and his friends, which includes the whale. In fact, his fierce protests that the whale is a good creature and doesn’t deserve banishment or punishment cause him to offend the tribal leader, and his father to be angry at him for speaking “out of turn.” He is keen to experience things for himself, and shows a general lack of fear except in extreme situations, when his focus shifts into looking after his loved ones and protecting them from harm.
