Maria Alvarez MBTI & Enneagram | Bandidas

ESFP 6w7 Characters

Maria’s father gets killed, so she takes it upon herself to rob the bank to punish the person responsible, then winds up falling in with Sara, who had the same idea. But of the two, Maria is the first one to start many of their robberies. She comes up with the idea to rob the train and prevent the gold from being shipped to Mexico. Maria also doesn’t really have “plans” and gets annoyed when Sara tells her she needs to “think” more instead of acting on every impulse. Unlike Sara, she immediately picks up on sensory activities such as horseback riding, stunts, swinging off rooftops, making getaways, and even is a crack shot with little practice. She rationalizes away her criminal behavior as being “for the people” and gets into a fight with Sara, who at first wants to take half the money and go back to her life of luxury in Europe, because in Maria’s opinion, the money belongs to the people and Sara has no right to it. Her advocating for them gets Sara on board with doing her bit for “my country.” Maria is also quick to share her feelings on things, as she vents about Quentin going home with his fiancé, how dare he kiss us and then tell us both we are perfect, I hate I am now thinking all the time because of you, etc. She’s quite clever in problem solving, but has to be taught “how to think more” (and now resents it), but has no real plans for her future except her throwaway line at the end that infers she might rob banks in Europe.

Enneagram: 6w7

Maria is very loyal to her father and initially becomes angry enough after he’s shot to start robbing banks; she does so on a whim, but also justifies it in her own mind as being a good/appropriate thing to do, because she doesn’t intend to keep any of the money. That makes it selfless and a good thing to do, morally, which would appeal to a 6. She is sometimes unsure of herself, particularly when Sara upsets her by insinuating that she doesn’t know how to kiss a man; occasionally, Maria gets so easily riled (reactive) that she tries to prove what a bad-ass she is, by outdoing Maria (moving toward 3). She is funny, outgoing, flirtatious, but also awkward, good-natured, and likes to laugh and have fun, but is also cautious and hastens in to warn her friends when something is about to go wrong.
