ESFP 8w7 Characters
Dominant Extroverted Sensing—living in the moment, hands-on opportunism, and learning by doing: Helen is highly observant; even before she becomes a spy, she memorizes license plates instantly, looks for escape routes, and knows how to take care of herself. She cut and run when things went badly at home, and fled overseas for a few years to let the fuss die down before she returned to London. As a spy, she winds up involved with a politician and marries him, has kids with him, then embarks on an affair that could compromise her identity. After that man gets murdered, she needs to know what happened and to kill the person responsible, so she goes against her boss’ orders to stand down and does all the investigating in person—showing up places, searching rooms, fighting off assassins, etc. Elsewhere, she saves someone’s life by engaging in a shoot-out while pregnant in a flashback, and kicking the ass of a man who breaks into her home to murder her, then taking him out to the shed and shooting him. She can be reckless and impulsive.
Auxiliary Introverted Feeling—a self-knowledge and a desire to live under one’s personal values: Her emotions drive her 24/7. She is secretive and nobody ever knows what she is feeling internally; she can lock her true feelings behind a smile, to deceive her husband and her kids, even though she’s devastated by the loss of her boyfriend. Helen wanted him to know the truth about her being a spy once she fell in love with him, because she could not bear for him to fall in love with her “fake” self. Some of her poorest decisions come when she is too emotional to think straight.
Tertiary Extroverted Thinking—a desire to assess the facts of a situation and get things done efficiently: Helen is ruthless in doing what is necessary to get information, or in shooting people in the head to keep her loved ones safe. She shows no remorse for executing a man who intended to threaten her kids and kill her family, then tells her boss to clean it up, because it’s not her mess. Helen takes direct action rather than waits around for things to happen to her, and she gets into heated arguments with fellow assassins. She is so brisk and blunt the first time she meets her spy partner, he has to remind her saying hi and introducing oneself is the “polite” way to be.
Inferior Introverted Intuition—a desire to experience deeper meaning and a singular path, but sometimes being wrong in their intuitive conclusions: Helen is terrible at thinking about the potential consequences of her decisions, more so than an actual spy would be because of bad writing. The poor script means she doesn’t think about things like cameras or fingerprints, or that facial recognition could track her, or that she’s famous enough that people can identify her on sight.
Enneagram: 8w7
Enneagram—defiant and strong-willed, with a need to control their environment and assert themselves to get what they want: Helen refuses to listen to anyone or take orders, even when it is in her best interest—she gets into bad situations because she defies her boss, who could have her killed. She is not afraid to use lethal force to deal with threats, to stand up to people who try to intimidate her, etc. She could not help falling in love with her boyfriend even though she was married for her cover and doesn’t judge herself for the affair or for misleading her husband. It’s implied she may have had something to do with her stepfather’s death and fled the country to escape justice.
7 wing brings in a heady secondary influence, where positive re-framing and optimism takes flight: She has unconditional positive self-regard, and thinks of herself as a person who does good things for the right reasons. She idealized her boyfriend and feels like for his death to make any sense, there needed to be a good reason for it. Helen is good at being charming and turning a conversation from a negative into a positive, or giving her kids stuff to look forward to. She can turn off her emotions and put on a smile. Helen is good at justifying her decisions to herself and to her boss without changing her behavior.
