Francesca Bridgerton MBTI & Enneagram | Bridgerton

ISTJ 9w1 Characters

ISTJs typically have one thing they love above all else, and for Francesca, that’s music. She comes to life when she talks about it, but seems rather disinterested in everything else. She is almost constantly playing her piano, and knew from an early age that’s what she loved. Francesca is often by herself, absorbed in her music, and doesn’t even notice when the Queen enters the room behind her, she gets so absorbed in playing. She also shows no resistance to the world she lives in; she just accepts that she will have to make her debut, and get married, and wants to get it over with so she can have her own household (hopefully miles away from anyone) and get on with “life.” At times, she can be quite blunt when articulating her thoughts—when her future husband asks what she thinks of this music, she complains that it’s all wrong and would be better if it were played differently, then is happy when he uses that as a reason to speak to the musicians and change it. She also speaks sharply to the Queen and asserts what she wants (to get married quickly and to this man), then has to add on “If it pleases your majesty” to the end, because she realizes she was too frank. Her Fi shines when she speaks about music; she comes alive and is very animated. She also knows her own mind, and grows fond of her future husband by “standing here and not talking to him.” She happily sits in silence with him and allows their bond to grow without needing conversation. Francesca shows no visible interest in anything outside of her passion for music, although she is open to changing her entire environment and going to live in Scotland for its remoteness.

Enneagram: 9w1

Francesca stresses several times that she finds the world overwhelming and she just wants to be ‘at peace.’ Her mother accurately intuits that a lot of what Francesca does is just ‘go with the flow’ and take ‘the easiest path.’ She does “fall in love” with a man quite easily, but it’s also appealing to her because he doesn’t put her under any kind of stress or pressure; they just sit together and don’t talk, and his house is in the middle of nowhere, which will allow her to do nothing but play music and avoid people. She frequently slips out of rooms when over-stimulated, and has no real opinions that she articulates except when it directly ties into her Fi (her forceful proclamation to Queen Charlotte that she wants to get married to this man, and in a hurry, after begging her mother to do it for her, so she won’t have to assert herself). She has no real interest in being the season’s diamond or in getting married, but she allows herself to go along with it because resistance seems futile. Francesca behaves properly, and does have some strong opinions that surface once in awhile.
