Niko is sweet and genuine, emotional and sensitive. She does not like to see cruel things, and she opts out of going into a “murder house” because it might disturb her in some way. She is gentle and willing to hear the Walrus talk about his life story, after Crystal bluntly shuts him down. Since she looks for the best in everyone and everything, she is able to draw the real truth out of others—she gets Charles to own up to his emotions, by sensing what they are and correctly interpreting them. She has a fantastical imagination, believing in ghosts, sprites, sea glass, faeries, mermaids, and everything she cannot see. Niko likes to think her dead father is out there somewhere, and convinces a strict woman to give the Boys another chance. She is full of questions, interested in every story of everyone around her, and likes to focus on the potential of situations (pushing others to actualize what she sees in them, which is for Charles to admit he is gay, for Jenny to go on a date, etc). She is romantic-minded, infatuated with love, and draws details from anime rather than real life. Niko likes to stay in her room and keep her life small, taking comfort in her television show reruns. She has meaningful things she holds onto from her past life, and likes to collect things. Her Te is not strong, but she does read through an entire manual for the afterlife, and when a woman becomes unreasonable, she quotes chapter and verse at her, to convince her that she has to follow the rules, and file certain forms before they can take away her friends.

Niko is a very sweet but withdrawn girl, who is content to live a small life devoted to anime, where nothing can happen to be unpleasant or disruptive to her. She wanders into a field one day, gets infected by spores, and then becomes a manifestation of sweetness and light; after the Boys save her from dying because of this, she can see ghosts and demons. Instead of being disturbed by this, Niko sweetly accepts it, is tolerant of everyone and everything, and loves to spread goodness to everyone she meets. She is gently interested in them, polite, and wants to “help” them by improving their life in some small way (1 wing). Niko does not even want to kill the spites that abuse her on a regular basis; she just covers up their jar when she finds what they say hurtful and ignores them. She is very hard on herself when she makes mistakes that harm other people, but is also a safe haven for others to confide their feelings and dreams into.
