Petronella Osgood MBTI & Enneagram | Doctor Who

INTP 5w6 Characters

Osgood approaches situations from an analytical perspective, and reaches rational conclusions easily, but also has a laid-back approach to her own identity; she embraces her ‘clone self’ and both incarnations of her refuse to self-identify, or acknowledge which one of them is the literal human, for the greater good of the human race. She and the Doctor have a natural harmony due to their shared detachment in intense situations; Osgood does not mind making sacrifices for the ‘greater good’; she has an idea, an internal sense of how reality works and how to improve it through her actions, and devotes herself to that end. Her inferior Fe shows in her laid back but kind nature, and her casual adoption and mimicry of traits she finds admirable in other characters (“bow ties are cool”), her difficulty in using intense emotions (unlike her ease with computer systems) and her willingness to abandon all sense of “self” for the cause. She has a quick mind, and links thoughts about the Doctor, and Missy without needing time to process things, but can also be a little slow to recognize danger when it comes for her – she pauses to contemplate Missy’s meaning on an intuitive level, rather than reacts to the real danger it poses (Missy’s threat of killing her in a couple of minutes). Osgood works with computer systems, and often gives “non-answers” to questions; she’s comfortable with ambiguity, but she also relies on her own former interactions with the Doctor to reinforce her expectations of his behavior; she adopts certain things he has told her, and the way he dresses into her own wardrobe, in an attempt to set herself apart and pay homage to him (the scarf, the bow tie).

Enneagram: 5w6

Osgood is brainy and content to work behind the scenes most of the time, handling things with fairness and impartiality. She’s a good person to guard the box (along with her “second self”) because she doesn’t allow emotions to cloud her reasoning. She wants to understand how everything works and how it connects to the greater universe. Osgood is not swift to step forward, unless she’s convinced she can do something – but she has the book learning to back herself up. She can be somewhat detached to things. As a social type, she enjoys connecting with the Doctor through their shared love of knowledge and information; she uses this to protect others. Her 6 wing makes her cautious and resourceful, but also fun to be around. She adopts a scarf from a former incarnation of the Doctor both out of her own enjoyment, and her desire to be “like” him, and as a way to soften her likability to others.
