Landry Clarke MBTI & Enneagram | Friday Night Lights

ENTP 9w1 Characters

Landry is by his own admission a “nerd,” who is always coming up with fun conspiracy theories and sharing them with his friends. He is often unrealistic and hopeful for the future, to the point where ISFJ Matt tells him to get a grip or that his ideas aren’t realistic. Actually, Landry is quite good at making his dreams come true—he took a shot with Tyra and winds up dating her for a while, even though everyone laughed at the idea of her being with a nerd like him. He has a ton of different interests, is always theorizing on things, and is a whiz at math. Initially, that’s how he befriends Tyra, by teaching her how to do algebra. He is a whiz at mathematics, but also has an eclectic sense of humor (hence the goofy name of his band). His low Fe is pretty open with his feelings; he can articulate and express them easily, and often gets his feelings hurt when others dismiss him or pooh his dreams. Landry is very compassionate and is a good friend to those around him; he is soft and easily moved by others’ emotional appeals. His low Si shows up mostly in his love of old movies, music, and eclectic interests. He doesn’t know which movie is a better ‘date’ movie, and settles on Jaws.

Enneagram: 9w1

Landry doesn’t like conflict or people to be upset with him. He is very quick to diffuse tense situations and to try to make up with people, but is also open-minded and optimistic. He believes he has a shot with Tyra even when Matt casts cold water on it, then winds up committing murder to protect her from a rapist, and then dumps the body… but starts feeling guilty about it, and insists on confessing and taking all the blame. He doesn’t want any of it to blow back on her, and he has a problem not telling the ‘whole truth’ until his lawyer reassures him that he did it for a good reason (to protect someone) and that he has nothing to feel ashamed about, certainly not ruin his future over. It’s hard for him to stand up for himself in the present moment, but he will assert boundaries later (with Tyra treating him like dirt, telling Matt to get a grip, etc). He’s very open-minded and considerate of others, but holds himself to a high personal standard when it comes to taking responsibility for his mistakes.
