Kirk is pretty analytical and eager to put himself forward for jobs; he’s very literal in many ways and doesn’t coach his language in softening terms, such as when he tells Lorelai that her house might fall in due to the termites he found under the porch, and he’d rather not stand there in case it collapses. He can be socially awkward and unsure of how to handle situations (awkwardly asking Lorelai out on a date, asking for advice in how to have a girlfriend, finding out weird details about future potential partners and their compatibility, etc). He is unaware of when he’s being embarrassing in public, such as when he insists they show his home video to the entire town and he’s given a wooden performance. His Ne is pretty out there – Kirk has about 60 jobs and never stays with one very long; he does everything from repair work to filmmaking. He has about a hundred hobbies and every time he shows up in an episode, he claims to know something about whatever is going on, or he’s in the middle of it, or putting himself forward for a job he assumes he is qualified for, etc. Kirk doesn’t especially love change, though, and he stays with his mom because he has yet to “grow up.” His inferior Fe is out of touch with how others feel about him; sometimes when he tries to console other people, or be supportive of them, what he has to say comes out wrong and he’s oblivious to it. But he wants praise and appreciation, and feels especially competitive. He gloats whenever he wins at anything.

Kirk is conflict avoidant to the max; he doesn’t even have a key to his own home, because he lives with his mother and she won’t give him one. He will push people and irritate them, then back off when and if they react against him. He can be obnoxious at times, putting himself forward for jobs but never finishing any of them or keeping them longer than a week or two. He thinks he has to ask permission for things, but can also be demanding and insistent on getting his own way.
