Dominant Extroverted Intuition – chasing after idealistic possibilities, conjuring up theories, and in seeing connections between unrelated ideas: It’s easy for Lorelai to suck Sookie into her wordsmith brainstorming; Sookie easily starts theorizing, talking about possibilities, coming up with silly puns, using movie references, and renaming food. She isn’t content just to serve normal dishes, and is always experimenting, but being oblivious to her environment while doing it (often setting fires, cutting herself, popping champagne corks into her eyes, etc). But she is also more insightful into Lorelai than Lorelai is—she knows Christopher is Lorelai’s rebound and that she loves Luke more than she realizes. She loves to dream big with Lorelai and is excited about opening an inn with her, but can just as easily flip around and start coming up with a thousand things that can go wrong. Excitement over something new and novelty causes Sookie to get sucked into a giant wedding when Emily proposes it and to say yes to everything. She forgets to check in with her own feelings in the process (“we wanted a small wedding! With just our friends!”); she goes overboard and hires European jugglers and imported musicians.
Auxiliary Introverted Feeling – self-knowledge and a desire to live in accordance with one’s personal values: Sookie tries to be mindful of other people’s feelings, but can often be blunt when articulating herself. She initially fights with Jackson all the time, because she’s furious with his inability to get her the vegetables that she wants, or his peaches are too squishy, or the summer squash is wrong. She’s also clueless about how he feels about her, and needs Lorelai to point out that they should go on a date. She’s extremely good with people and very loving and caring, though she mostly shows others how she loves them through being generous with food. She is easily offended and sometimes quite emotional, but also tries to be appropriate to whatever situation she is in, through her creativity—she doesn’t want to serve little girls cucumber sandwiches, much to Emily’s annoyance, and re-names her easy dishes to impress the Gilmores without batting an eyelash. Lorelai has to tell her that she needs to give little kids stuff like peanut butter sandwiches.
Tertiary Extroverted Thinking – a desire to assess the facts of a situation and get things done efficiently: Sookie has a reputation of being a dictator in the kitchen; she has exacting standards for those who work on her staff. She doesn’t hesitate in berating them for doing less than their best, for messing with their sauces, etc. She can be quite savage in her takedown of other cooks and their abilities. Sookie often gets into arguments with Jackson and ignores his concerns, rolling her eyes in his freaking out about having a baby and saying he’s being an idiot for worrying about their unborn child rolling off the counter and falling into an open drawer in which their cleaver is sitting. But she also gets freaked out regularly and then thinks she’s not capable of being a good mother, because she’s never done it before.
Inferior Introverted Sensing – skewed sentimentality toward particular items or beliefs, a loss of details: Sookie has a fondness for her past, loves her friends from her childhood, asks Lorelai to tell her what being pregnant is like (assuming that this will help her to prepare). She references previous incidents in how she feels about certain people; because of Christopher’s bad track record of avoiding conflict and not being reliable, she encourages Lorelai to move “slowly” in her relationship with him (but then tries to be supportive of her friend when they get married, despite her personal feelings). She points out, when talking to Lorelai about leaving Luke behind, that they shared a lot, they were friends for a long time before they got married, and that Lorelai can’t just “cut him out” because of all their combined history.

Sookie is a good-natured, scatterbrained chef who insists everything is “just fine” even when it’s not. She cheerfully bustles around demanding high quality things from her chef, but also manages to set things on fire. She is happy go lucky, doesn’t fret about a lot of stuff, even when it goes wrong, and engages in almost constant witty banter with Lorelai. They wind up going off on wild tangents and then Sookie gets so excited, Lorelai has to tell her to dial it back. She can be rather demanding and insistent upon what she wants, but sometimes falls into over-thinking, such as on her first date. Then she becomes needy and wants to cancel it, projects everything that goes wrong, and can’t be comfortable on the date. She focuses on Loreali instead of her potential boyfriend, bringing up stuff they did together that was hilarious rather than finding anything new to talk about with him. Sometimes Sookie goes off on fear spirals, but she also gets angry with Lorelai for overreacting and being negative.
