Rose Fleming MBTI & Enneagram | Oliver Twist

MBTI Type: ISFJ

Rose is a sensible girl but also a romantic, who doesn’t like to sit around and do nothing; she informs Oliver when he doesn’t care to read a book (because he saw one he didn’t like once) that that’s the best part about books—they are all different from one another, implying her enjoyment of diversity and living vicariously through them. She also tends to take care of what’s right in front of her—and doesn’t like to sit idle. She tries to think up ways to entertain Oliver while he recovers from his illness—reading, playing games, and finally resorts to teaching him to play chess. She is also haunted by something she saw a child, and that she can recall in perfect detail—her eventual account of the monster she saw in her sister’s rooms and how he bit his hands leads Mr. Brownlow to recognize the sinister figure of Monks, and solve the mystery around Oliver’s parentage and why he’s being kept from them. Rose doesn’t tell anyone what she saw in her sister’s room for nine years—that’s how long it takes her to come to terms with it, before she shares it mostly for Oliver’s well-being, and after her godfather encourages her to do so. She declares her affections to the doctor at Oliver’s bedside, and impulsively kisses him, but is also respectful enough of Mr. Brownlow’s wishes not to romantically pursue him until she receives permission (his nod, indicating she may play a romantic duet with her doctor friend at the piano). She is warm and affectionate to Oliver immediately upon meeting him, but also curious about how he came to be there and about his history. She shows no real intuition other than her interest in reading books and excitement over the idea of having diverse emotional experiences through each of them.

Enneagram: 2w1

Rose is a sweet and pure-hearted girl, who mostly cares about loving and caring for those around her. She has never met Oliver, but rushes to take him into the house, sits by his bedside waiting for him to wake up, and then takes it upon herself to entertain him as he recovers—teaching him to play games, inviting him to read books, etc. She easily confesses her feelings for the man she loves and throws her arms around him for a kiss, unable to wait another minute to show her affections. She is often touching and embracing others, but also focused on doing what is right and good, on standing on her convictions, while avoiding any kind of intense conflict. She hides Oliver in a closet to keep him away from Mr. Brownlow, until she knows there won’t be an upset over his presence in the household.
