Anton MBTI & Enneagram | Once Upon a Time

INFP 9w8 Characters

Anton is very warm hearted and trusting. He deeply internalizes his emotions and is easily hurt by criticism or betrayal. He takes his responsibilities very seriously, but also feels a need to be true to himself. Anton abandons his home, goes down the beanstalk, and considers living in the world of men, because he feels more accepted as an individual there. He makes his choices based on an internal moral code, and will not do anything he believes is wrong. His discontentment with the sameness of home is partly because he has such a vivid imagination and is curious about all the wonders and ideas of the world. Anton never takes anything at face value, but instead tries to overlay personalized meaning to what he encounters. He is excited by the possibilities of living among humans and experiencing new ideas. Anton wants life to have meaning, and once he puts aside his feelings, can sense others’ connections and intentions. Even though he enjoys being out in the world, Anton also finds comfort in the familiarity of home. He dutifully undertakes his responsibilities of caring for the beanstalks and protecting the family home once the others are gone. Much of his distrust of humans is based on his bad former experiences with them – betrayal, manipulation, and the murder of his family. He isn’t as organized as others would like him to be, meaning that at times he finds it difficult to be practical and rational in his decisions. But, he also finds comfort in being able to control his environment. As he matures, he learns to think through his emotional decisions and consider their consequences. Anton is good at explaining his reasons for his decisions.

Night of Wonders by Charity Bishop, a fantasy novel about a magical competition, a mysterious hero, and a magical library.

Enneagram: 9w8

Anton is quite sweet, open-hearted, and naïve at the start of the story. He assumes everyone has good intentions and wants to believe the best in the humans he encounters, which causes them to manipulate him into leading them home to his country, where they kill his family and try to steal all the magic beans, so they can invade other kingdoms. After this, Anton becomes bitter and angry, drawing into himself, but emerging to wreak havoc and kill any human that comes up the beanstalk. He goes on an angry rampage through Storybrook, craving revenge for any misdeeds against him, until the others convince him that he can find a life, and a family among them, if he’s willing to put aside his rage.
