Aurora easily talks about what she is feeling, how she is feeling, and how it involves other people. She is mostly concerned with what she needs to do, to keep others safe or to support them, rather than thinking about herself. She seeks for others to accept and understand her, and feels enormous guilt if others sacrifice themselves for her sake. Aurora sees it as her sworn duty to do what she can for the protection of her people, thus showing her need to define herself by her social connections and obligation to others. How she approaches things is with an eye on what needs done in the present, to affect things in the future. Aurora is shocked when she finds out the entire world has changed while she slept, that half of the fairy tale kingdom is gone; she doesn’t know what to do with this information, other than try to get some semblance of normality, by finding a new place to belong. Aurora is surprised also to meet Mulan, a female soldier, since she never knew such things existed. She is more idealistic than Mulan, easily believing they can rescue Philip from the other dimension and hoping to restore him back to life. It takes her a while, but she figures out Mulan has feelings for Philip. Aurra distrusts Hook based on her experiences with him, and wants to make up for her mistakes by doing what she can to bring balance back to the realm. She tries to understand others so she can help them, but rarely questions her own motivations.
Enneagram: 2w1
Aurora makes decisions with her heart, based on what she thinks is the “right thing” for her to do, including insisting that she rescue Philip, being willing to sacrifice herself by climbing the beanstalk (“It should be me who goes up there”), and feeling heart-sick over betraying her friends after she has her heart stolen by Cora. She rarely stops to think about what she is doing, and insists on rushing into action on behalf of others, by assuming a moral responsibility for their happiness, welfare, or existence. Because of this, Auroa endures the flames of her dreams to connect with Henry, she loves and supports Mulan even though she gets jealous of Mulan’s feelings for Philip, etc. She also attacks Snow when she feels she was responsible for what happened to Philip, but then turns around and corrects her own behavior, to be more in alignment with the goodness she sees in herself. Aurora can be quite stern at times, lecturing people about their morals, and wanting to do right by them in her quest to be a good queen.
