ISTP 7w8 Characters
D’Arcy is detached, analytical, and a big problem-solver, who doesn’t take much of anything personally. She has a friendly rivalry with a former friend/enemy from high school that she taunts and belittles, but then will turn around and spend time with her or part without any negative feelings about the mean things they said to each other (bitch, skank, ho, etc). She rarely feels stuck in a situation, but actively tries to work her way out of problems by creative thinking and sheer force of will. D’Arcy lives in the moment and is opportunistic; she asserts herself often in the environment, and looks for physical activities as a distraction from life. She has one night stands without much provocation, sleeping with men she barely knows, gets drunk, loves to party, goes out and crashes other people’s parties, shows up without warning at people’s houses, buries her sorrows in a bottle, gets into fights, goes rock-climbing, and risks her life to warn people off of the ice caps. She sometimes has hunches about people, and says that she often ‘trusts her gut’ and follows her nose, referencing her Ni hunches. But mostly what we see in her is a lot of inferior Fe. She can awkwardly connect to people who come into her bar upset, and drinks with them, but doesn’t know how to meaningfully connect to her romantic partners or sustain a relationship that isn’t platonic. She is awkward, unsure of what to say, and just walks out of situations where she feels pressured or uncomfortable. D’Arcy sometimes is trying to console someone, and winds up worsening the situation instead because she says something blunt. But she really does care about her friends in her own way, and tries to make their lives better; she says she wishes she could find some way to contribute meaningfully to society, and that it would give her life meaning.
Enneagram: 7w8
D’Arcy is seen by other characters as “fearless” because she gets up in people’s faces, tells them, off, and lives a life full of excesses… she has one night stands and then rejects any attempts to connect the next morning by walking out awkwardly; she has a kid distract her best friend’s ex so that she can lock him out of his truck and push it down a hill so it crashes (as payment for smacking her around); she doesn’t allow being hurt or falling to stop her from scaling an ice wall to get her friends out of trouble; and she doesn’t admit to anyone when she is in pain, has emotional turmoil, or feels sad. When she finds out the guy she likes is “married,” D’Arcy just goes off and gets herself drunk. She buries her sorrows in hedonism, dancing on tables, punching people in the face, drinking, eating, and living life to the fullest. Her way of engaging with a high school frienemy is to taunt her, call her names, and then bowl with her later, because she takes none of it super personally. But she also admits that she thinks she has “wasted” so much of her life, and has nothing to show for it (and then kisses the man who tells her he doesn’t see it that way at all and admires her for being so brave).
