Tabitha is very much all about the community and doing things to keep it thriving and alive. She fights Riverdale dying by quitting her ambitions to become a lawyer and taking over her grandfather’s diner, then fights to let it be a ‘staple’ in the town, a ‘light’ in the darkness. She sells her hamburgers for 47 cents for a while, to help out the local workers and encourage them to go on strike, and is often at the forefront of social moments, getting people to work together, and championing other people’s causes even if she’s not directly involved. She’s also forthright with her feelings and in dealing with things immediately as she feels them, such as when she vents to Jughead in the alternate reality about how resentful she is about doing all the work and making all the money just so he can stay home and waste his life putting ships into bottles. Tabitha seems Si at first, in her love for her pop’s diner and not wanting to change anything about it, but over time we see how intuitive she is, in figuring out the truth of the ghosts in their apartment, in exploring what Pop’s means to the community and coming to see it as a symbol, in how she deals with her time-traveling, and how sure she is that all of their powers are significant and meaningful for the ‘final battle.’ She says she went and experienced over a thousand different versions of the future, in an attempt to find the ideal way to move forward. She also becomes extremely single-minded in how she tackles problems, never considering alternatives or backing off once she’s made up her mind. Tabitha is somewhat reckless at times; fearful that Betty might get into trouble by trolling for truckers on the highway, she works with her (“you’re not doing this alone”) instead of talking her out of doing it. She is assertive enough that she gets shot defending her beliefs, and then goes back in time and tries to take decisive action to ‘change’ events (she says she would kill Hitler given the chance). Tabitha doesn’t try to figure out things entirely on her own and often consults with Jughead about possible solutions to her problems and whether what she’s thinking might be feasible or not (she has the insane idea to pull down Pop’s and move it brick by brick into storage, so the villain can’t bulldoze it).
Enneagram: 1w2
Tabitha reacts from the gut and is always ‘sure’ of what she wants to do, whether that involves protecting Pop’s from closing down, or in her time-travel, when she goes back to MLK’s death day and warns everyone who wants to riot that doing that will play into the cop’s hands and give them an excuse to hurt them. She’s straightforward in dealing with her anger, and assertive in how she tells people what she thinks and feels. She is often angry about bullying, injustice, and racism, but also keeps a clear head and doesn’t allow her feelings to interfere with how she handles bad situations, whether that involves an ‘alien’ in a barrel of molasses being stolen or her admission to Jughead that she has time traveled, seen 1,200 different scenarios, and in all of them, their powers are important and crucial to the final battle. She’s eager to connect to people and help, lowering her prices to be more affordable in a recession, allowing fugitives to stay in Pop’s, and going out of her way to introduce Jughead to coping mechanisms to deal with his newfound deafness.
