Sheriff Stilinski MBTI & Enneagram | Teen Wolf

MBTI Type: ISTJ

Tackle demonic infestations alongside a trio of supernatural crime fighters in The Byron Trilogy

Sheriff Stilinski has a practical approach to solving cases: he first gathers all the details and then pieces them together into a broader context. Though he does not often talk about his wife, her loss weighs heavily on him and shapes many of his decisions regarding his son. The sheriff has no problems handling the mundane aspects of his job, in turning up to work on time every day, or in filling out the proper forms. He has a businesslike approach to crime-solving and parenting alike, and refuses to believe anything that doesn’t have proof behind it. The sheriff gives orders to his son and expects them to be obeyed; he doesn’t mind laying down the law when necessary. He mentions being concerned about his “career” once or twice, with the inference that Stiles’ behavior reflects on his reputation in office. Only when Stiles gets him roaring drunk on brandy does his father admit to how much he loved and misses his wife; when asked to repeat himself, he doesn’t. The sheriff clearly cares deeply for his son, but is more awkward in expressing those feelings, instead falling back on actions to reveal his feelings. He can sometimes get riled up and lose his temper, when he believes others are being hurt by people’s selfish behaviors. On occasion, he’s given to passive-aggressive, underhanded remarks that are ambiguous as to his true meaning. He “knows” that the pieces fit together, but cannot see the broader picture. The sheriff often spreads out documents on the table, taking pieces of evidence and corroborating events to try and form a big picture in his mind of what is truly going on, but his guesses are sometimes wrong and Stiles usually finds the answers first.

Enneagram: 6w5

The sheriff is distrustful of new information, skeptical about all the bad things that happen in Beacon Hills, and feels responsible for most of it. When he finds out about Werewolves being real, he goes back and re-opens all of his new files, to apply his new information in retrospect to everything he could not understand before, in an attempt to close some of his cases. Though firm in his decisions, he also second-guesses them if they have a negative affect on anyone (he says that he thinks he made a mistake, in re-opening a man’s pain). He is not afraid to consult Lydia for advice and expertise once he knows she is a Banshee, even though he isn’t fully aware of what her powers are, and knows that she isn’t even sure of what she can do, most of the time. He is forever trying to keep his son out of trouble, to no avail. Stilinski likes to gather his own evidence, do his own research, etc., but does not mind bringing his son in on his investigations, either, because he knows Stiles has good ideas and can see things or make connections that he can’t.
