Cole Johnson MBTI & Enneagram | The Babysitter

INTP 6w5 Characters

Cole is something of a nerd. Okay, a big one. His interests are all hypothetical concepts, such as building a “dream team” in which to go into space (who would you want, Kirk? Spock?). He loves to talk with Bee all day long about that kind of stuff, and even makes up his own rules (she says “Hey, you didn’t tell me WE could be in this scenario!”). Even though he is hated at school, he still manages to be okay with himself and to share his low Fe feelings with his shrink, including personal details about his love/sex life. He likes Phoebe because they have the same taste in things, and the same level of detachment, but he also can sacrifice his personal feelings for the greater good—he knows that despite his love for Bee, if he lets her live and get away with this, she’s just going to kill more people… so he ruthlessly mows her down by driving a car into her, then has an emotional moment with her before she dies in which he confesses that he loved her. Cole is always coming up with random connections and partly the reason he loves Bee is that she can so well tune into him, and reflect his interests back at him (she knows quotes from all the best movies, songs, etc!). Unlike Phoebe, he wants to know and discuss whether fate exists. He experiences a lot of trauma, and still manages to function, even though he becomes more emotional under stress—he can’t believe his girlfriend has betrayed him, but still copes well with escaping, falling for Phoebe, and even parting from Bee after she redeems herself by saving his life.

Enneagram: 6w5

Cole is afraid of most things, and doesn’t like to stand up for himself, so he much admires his charming, confident, and assertive babysitter, Bee. She constantly tells him to be strong and not let others boss him around, but it takes a crisis for him to stand up to her and to everyone else, and even then he attempts to recruit others to stand with him—the bully from across the street, and later, Phoebe, with whom he hitches a ride. They share “nerd interests.” His first thought when he sees a guy get murdered is to call the police, deferring to authority. He also likes and becomes dependent on his friends, which makes their betrayal in the second film all the more harrowing—he thought the girl he likes/loves was on his side, not a psychopath!
