Lucy can easily make people like her by being warm and outreaching; she asks questions of people and takes a genuine interest in them, asks Snow to provide food for her and her fellow tributes (it’s never just about her needs, it’s about “our” needs), and seems to care about most people she meets. It eats her up inside that the poison she left for fellow tributes was eaten by someone with tuberculosis, since in her mind, that girl was nice and didn’t deserve to die anyway. She judges Snow based on his betrayal of other people and the murders he committed, and also feels remorse about needing to defend herself in the arena. Lucy is also quite sentimental; she wears the colorful dress she chose because it reminds her of her family. She sees her people as a collective tribe and honors and trusts their traditions, often bringing in their folk songs. Her familiarity with places outside of District 12 guides her decision both to spend time alone with Snow unseen by Peace Keepers, and also gives her an out in which she can flee into the mountains and live off the land. Lucy knows all the right plants to eat, and when, and is confident she can survive. She sometimes reminiscences about her past, her family, or her friends. Her Ne gives her different ideas, but she doesn’t heavily use it or rely on it, although she does put the pieces together about Snow’s unintentional remark about being a three-time murderer. She is also cautious and suspicious of him when they first meet, and correctly assumes she needs to get away from him. Lucy is analytical and thoughtful, questioning people and their motives.

Lucy is usually concerned for other people’s welfare over her own, to the point that she refuses to only save herself in the Games and insists upon bringing her friend down into the tunnels with her. She falls in love with Snow, but also keeps him at a distance, and when she realizes he betrayed his best friend and she cannot trust him, she uses her rejection qualities as a 2 to cut him off without a second thought, walk out of that cabin, and leave him forever. Her likable nature, her sweetness, and her kindness are what make people like and root for her in the Games, and are what allows Snow to see her greater potential. She is very skilled at bringing out the best in herself, through her music, and in caring about other people, but can also be a chameleon and shape-shift into what the audience wants from her, as a performer, which is her 3 wing’s super-power.
