Timon is all about living in the present and adopting a mantra of “no worries.” He figures it’ll all work itself out in the end. He stays pretty chill most of the time, and he sets an example for his friends of making the most of… well, idleness. Timon takes things at face value, and then interprets them according to his later vision, which is decidedly negative in assessing Simba and Nala’s romantic relationship (“We’re doomed!”) in accordance with his negative inferior Ni. He doesn’t mince words and flat out argues with Pumba and Simba if he thinks their rationality is faulty; he sneers at Pumba’s theory about the stars, and he kinda wants to just get rid of the lion cub since he knows “he’ll grow up to eat us,” but he also has strong emotional opinions, and can be charming and persuasive when he wants to be. He’s not great with dealing with, or sensing, his friends’ emotional states (“Was it something I said?”) and prefers just to joke about things.

Timon is a wise-cracking goofball who just wants to have a good time, stuff himself with grubs until he’s full, and doesn’t feel responsible for looking after anyone but himself. At first, he doesn’t want to be burdened by taking care of a lion cub and intends to leave him in the desert to die, but Pumba talks him into giving the cub a second chance. Timon then sets out to teach him how to be a slouch properly, by introducing him to a life of pleasure and a total lack of responsibilities. Though cautious about his personal safety, Timon is also willing to “dress up and do a hula” as a distraction for his friend (only he would come up with something that ridiculous).
