Genevieve MBTI & Enneagram | The Originals

MBTI Type: ESFJ

Encounter the Seven Deadly Sins alongside a trio of supernatural gumshoes in The Byron Trilogy

Genevieve deals in her emotions most of the time; she is sensitive, ethical, and emotional, reacting against the more driven Te-witches around her—she sees some of their actions and behaviors as wicked or deviant, while being unable to separate herself from them. She engages in mental games with Klaus and Rebekah, to prove to him his sister’s treachery and expose her for no other reason than to cause trouble and discord among the Originals, so she has time to set other plans in motion. Genevieve wants Klaus to love her, but can’t entirely trust him, and turns to her community instead. She comes to like Hayley and feels morally guilty about sacrificing her child; but also sees it as necessary for the greater good. Genevieve cannot be detached, and when she chooses that road, she becomes callous and calculating, showing low thinking in her ruthlessness—but it’s often to serve an emotional agenda of some sort, such as revenge. Genevieve has always respected the ancestors and their ways, and tried to abide by the rules of her coven; she has contempt for those who flout tradition, and she tries to instill in the Harvest girls a deep respect for the Si-driven legacies of their community, even though it doesn’t stick with ENTJ Monique. She also carries her former flames and grudges, even after her death, and resurrects them when she gets involved with the Mikaelsons. Rather than having her own grand plan, she allows the ancestors to dictate to her what must be done. She wheels and deals, using low Ne to anticipate and change her approach; Genevieve begs the ancestors to let her live and find another way to consecrate their magic without using the blood of an infant, which she sees as sacred.

Enneagram: 2w1

Much like Rebekah, Genevieve makes all of her decisions from her emotions, and over-relies on her desire to be loved, accepted, and cared for, while having a clear agenda in all of her relationships. She started out as a nurse who tediously and meticulously took care of people during the influenza (and wound up being used, abused, and betrayed by the Mikaelson family), and still promotes herself as an active “helper” when she returns from the dead. She climbs into Klaus’ bed (reigniting an old torch she had for him centuries ago), positions herself as the only witch on his side (even though she intends to betray him), and tries to make herself useful within the coven, while maintaining a position of authority over the Harvest Girls. But she also prioritizes her own survival; she does not want to die, and even though her emotions won’t allow her to do certain things with a clear conscience, she feels forced by the threat of having no other options. So she tries to vindicate herself in seeing her position as good and justifying her actions against Klaus (as just payment for his lack of keeping his promises).
