Dominant Introverted Feeling – a self-knowledge and a desire to live in accordance with one’s personal values: Mina is responsible for something terrible that happened in her childhood, but she never talks about it to anyone or lets the know what she is thinking or feeling. Rather than take comfort in opening up to her sister, she pull away from her and ignores her, getting wrapped up in her own emotions instead.
Auxiliary Extroverted Sensing – acting on one’s feelings through living in the moment and hands-on learning: She’s very proactive in her environment; when her car breaks down in the middle of nowhere, she gets out her bird and sets out on foot. Rather than be scared of the unknown after encountering the others and their house in the woods, she decides that she’s leaving and goes exploring. They tell her to stay away from the fae mounds, and she promptly goes down into one and brings up anything she feels is useful to the surface (bicycle, flashlight, etc) and that could help them escape. She is physically reactive and quick-thinking in terms of getting in and out of trouble, and doesn’t believe in the ‘monsters’ outside until she has physical evidence of them (she hears them and sees them, and THAT convince her that they are real and is terrifying).
Tertiary Introverted Intuition – specific insights and premonitions, and a singular state of mind: Mina doesn’t show much Ni except that she’s convinced they can get out of this situation alive, and is very withdrawn. She assumes alternate personas in her daily life and takes on ‘stories’ and ‘characters’ as part of ‘exploring,’ but always comes back to herself.
Inferior Extroverted Thinking – blunt and irritated by incompetence when under stress or overly focused on “the facts”: Her lower Te is blunt, focused on solving problems, and doesn’t question much of what’s going on around her. She proactively wants to GET OUT OF HERE, and tries to look for logical ways to escape, get the others out safely, convince one of them to let them back into the shelter after he locks them out, and is curious about the contents of the computer and research about the fae.

Enneagram 9 – desires freedom from others’ influences, by going along with them and being tolerant, until it matters not to: ? Mina is pretty avoidant in her life, which includes not answering her sister’s numerous phone and text messages because she doesn’t want to ‘deal’ with the anniversary of her mother’s death. She is always convinced that they can get out of here, and somehow be okay. Later, when the twist happens and she has to confront someone, she tries to use peaceful methods and to instill hope in that person rather than be purely combative. Through the events of the story, she learns to deal with her past and be more okay with talking to her sister about what happened.
8 wing brings in a tendency to assert oneself with strong but infrequent bouts of anger: She swings back and forth between being accommodating and defiant when in the woods, rarely being afraid until after she has acted on her gut instincts and then seen the consequences of her actions (going into the mound, and upsetting the fae folk, by disobeying several of their rules). And she has a solid sense of proactivity when she needs to, in deciding that she’s not going to live in the woods forever; forget it, and forget being her boss.
