ISTP 6w5 Characters
Patrick is very rational and detached, which makes him incredibly dangerous, because he easily problem-solves, resolves things, and has no delusions even about his work partner (after the man gets burned on the face and is “fading” in that his mind isn’t working as well as it did before, Patrick cooly tells him he is very aware of it). He is more cautious than Jack, and wants to analyze situations rather than go in guns blazing, to minimize the risks involved. But he’s also instinctual in using his environment and able to react quickly, as he chases down people to kill them. He even follows them into a forest on fire to finish the job, and promises to not make the kid suffer if he turns himself in. At times, Jack shows flits of low intuition in how he decides what decisions to make, but mostly he shows a lot of inferior Fe. When he wants Connor to come out of hiding, he beats up Hannah and promises to make her suffer, knowing this will emotionally affect the child and force him to come out of hiding. He then asks the boy to turn around, so he doesn’t have to shoot him in the face while looking at him, because his eyes make him uncomfortable. He only uses creating suffering to achieve an end result, not for his own sadistic pleasure.

Patrick is a head type, who carefully thinks about things before he acts, and wants to minimize the risk to himself. He doesn’t like Jack’s tendency to just generate chaos wherever they go, because he cannot control the narrative or the outcome. Several times, he mentions how they could just walk away, rather than increase the risk to themselves; it’s also implied that he is aware of his partner becoming a liability and might be capable of “taking care of it” at some point. He tries to make a rational decision about who should stay and take care of the pregnant woman, because he knows Jack’s thinking is compromised, but then defers to Jack’s authority and goes along with him. His 5 wing shows in his inner resolve, self-confidence in his ability to problem solve, his desire to do the job well, etc.
