Dan Brady MBTI & Enneagram | Virgin River

MBTI Type: ISTP

Dan does what he thinks is going to make him money, even if it’s risky and illegal in the process. It annoys him that Jack does not trust him, pay him as much as he thinks he is worth, etc, so when he hears about a job that could pay a lot more, even if it involves risky characters, he leaps on it and quickly integrates into the gang. When he decides to come clean and play it safe, Brady thinks about how to take them down and agrees to work undercover to that end. He places himself at risk in the process, by wearing wires around them, sneaking in to videotape them, and so forth. Numerous times, they leave him to clean up a mess—but in one instance, he lets a guy go and only pretends to put a bullet through his head. Brady is forever trying to angle toward the future he wants, but is sometimes derailed by his own impulses. He has a low Fe tendency to throw tantrums, but also a lack of awareness about how to handle other people’s emotions. Being there for Brie means listening to her, wanting to fight her battles, and needing to know if she is okay with him touching her after he learns about her rape. He struggles with his own feelings a lot of the time and bypasses them in favor of direct action.

Enneagram: 9w8

Brady thinks with his gut; whatever feels right to him, he goes with it, which includes getting involved with a dangerous drug-dealing gang, then actively risking his life repeatedly to bring down the whole operation—and he almost pays for it by winding up dead. He both hates and provokes conflict with others, due to his resentment over Jack’s super-ego judgments about his behavior during the war. Brady also struggles with his anger, and finding an outlet for it, causing him to be combative at times and intentionally belligerent when others tell him what to do. He generally stands up to them and holds his ground, but is also angry about the things he cannot change, his past, and what has happened to Brie as a result of her ex-boyfriend’s actions.
