Dominant Introverted Thinking—striving to understand how things work to hack existing systems: Jane has a very critical nature, inclined to point out flaws in other people’s thinking as situations arise. She does not hesitate to prod other people, condemn their stupidity, or respond with a sharp tongue. Jane is excellent at analyzing others and discerning their natural flaws and weaknesses, then exploiting them both for her own amusement and other’s ends. She is sometimes more interested in correcting someone than in choosing her words wisely (easily making an enemy of Anne Boleyn in the process).
Auxiliary Extroverted Sensing—acting on what exists by living in the moment and hands-on learning: She is observant and opportunistic, not hesitating to see and exploit the weaknesses in Anne, nor to unite in scheming with Cromwell and provide him with “evidence” necessary to get Anne arrested. Jane reacts in the moment, without fully thinking through the consequences of her barbs and insults. She has no illusions about other people, but sees them for who and what they are (simpletons, schemers, doormats, manipulators, fools, opportunists).
Tertiary Introverted Intuition—specific insights and premonitions, and a singular state of mind: Her instincts are good; she senses Anne’s impending downfall and offers false evidence to assist Cromwell in framing, arresting, and executing her. Her instinctive knack of reading other people gives her a “one up” on them, often leading to her demeaning their lack of understanding (baiting Jane Seymour, she says, is easy, because she’s such a little fool). Once Jane has Cromwell’s ear, she anticipates another queen in Anne’s place and schemes with him, in obscure language; his higher Ni activates hers.
Inferior Extroverted Feeling—an awkwardness around emotions and little desire to meet others’ expectations: Jane says things to get a rise out of people, and to see their reaction, but it’s difficult to offend her. She doesn’t care if others lash out at her or attack her in return; she enjoys baiting people and running intellectual rings around them, and seeks small encouragement from Cromwell for her cleverness.

Enneagram 8—defiant and strong-willed, with a need to control their environment and assert themselves to get what they want: Jane is a bully who loves to push around Jane Seymour, whom she sees as weak and a doormat. She enjoys saying mean things about her mistress and telling Cromwell all about what goes on behind closed doors, because it gives her a sense of empowerment to push back against someone who has authority over her. When Anne slaps her, hard, for Jane making a nasty remark about someone killing her dog by throwing it out a window, Jane dares her to “do it again… I shall slap you back.” She then goes to Cromwell and spreads lies about George and Anne having an incestuous relationship, to take both of them “down.” She wisely does not push around anyone who could do her serious harm, though.
9 wing brings in a desire to mediate conflict by being the top dog whose peace nobody disturbs, with a gentle side: Rather than get into too many debates, Jane withdraws when things do not go in her favor. She does not need to gloss over the truth as Anne does, and has no natural optimism, in favor of a gritty approach to life with a sense of passivity in that “this is how things are; there is nothing to do about it… yet.”
