Dominant Extroverted Intuition – chasing after idealistic possibilities, conjuring up theories, and in seeing connections between unrelated ideas: Wonka comes to the city “full of dreams,” some of which he grew in childhood with his mother, in his desire to create a fantastical chocolate shop. Even though she is dead, Wonka hopes that opening his shop will cause her to keep her promise and to “be there,” and is disappointed by the reality of her absence. He is cheerful and industrious, positive and concerned for the general welfare of others he encounters on his path, but woefully underprepared and not at all detail-oriented, as we find out as one by one his sovereigns leave his pocket. He makes his chocolates unique by gathering all kinds of odd ingredients to bring out different emotions and experiences for those who consume them, in one instance, not realizing or noticing that he took the “entire” chocolate supply from the Oompa Loompas.
Auxiliary Introverted Feeling – self-knowledge and a desire to live in accordance with one’s personal values: Willy is thoughtful, gentle, and sweet to others, but also oblivious at first to their feelings in favor of his own thoughts, impressions, and feelings about his mother not being here with him. Once he knows about them, he wants to help them out of their problems, but does not “share” in their emotional state, just react to it out of his own.
Tertiary Extroverted Thinking – a desire to assess the facts of a situation and get things done efficiently: He intends to make a name for himself, to create a business, and to profit off his fantastical ideas. And he’s quite good at it, when nobody is sabotaging him! His fantastical creations turn a tidy profit, and he knows how to engage people and raise their interest by giving away wonderful free samples.
Inferior Introverted Sensing – skewed sentimentality toward particular items or beliefs, a loss of details: His general whimsical nature outranks his sensory presence in the world; he attaches cherished memories to his chocolate, and idealizes his mother in the process. He does not concern himself with permits, the fine print (he can’t read it), suspicious characters, and thus winds up in trouble, in hawk for ten pounds, and then in servitude to a pair of disreputable people, whom he then uses clever trickery, music, and marvelous schemes to outsmart.

Enneagram 7 – a playful and quick-witted optimist who stays in constant motion and is always looking to the future: Willy is a cheerful fellow, always looking on the bright side and assuming that only good things are going to happen to him, which makes him a bit naïve in dealing with the villains who want to stop him from selling chocolate. His ideas are fantastical, his chocolates rich with possibilities, and he enjoys creating each one to be even more interesting than the last. Willy doesn’t settle on sad thoughts for long; he brushes right past them, makes a joke, or insists it’s all going to turn out for the best, even when his future looks hopeless.
6 wing brings in a desire for a solid support system and occasional self-doubts: Yet, his 6 wing also cares about other people and wants to take care of them, attaches itself to his little group, and puts a tiny bit of caution into his interactions with bad guys. Willy isn’t afraid it will all go wrong, he just wants nothing to get in his way of a fantastical emporium.
