Meemaw is a lot like her grandson, Georgie—she likes to sit back and watch the chaos and laugh about it, without being interested in getting sucked into it. She has a ton of hobbies, she’s forever going out on dates and even strings along two men at once (temporarily, until it feels crappy to her and then she dumps one of them). Meemaw doesn’t see the problem with leading guys on provided they pay for dinner! She’s also a lot more logical than her daughter, who thinks of her mom as a flake. When Sheldon holds up in the garage and refuses to come out because it’s flu season and he’s terrified of germe,s Meemaw first tries cookies (since reasoning doesn’t work) and then she gives him a rousing speech about how people from Texas are not cowards, so he’s not a coward, because he’s from Texas! She doesn’t get upset about most of the things that her daughter gets upset about, and doesn’t take much of anything personally. But she sometimes uses Fe in both healthy ways (to make people feel good about themselves or overcome their anxieties) and unhealthy ways (she spends a lot of time picking on her son-in-law, and in several episodes, screws with him for laughs). Meemaw has no real interest in anything abstract; at first, she’s not interested in attending Sturgis’ rambling, abstract-themed lectures, until she kind of finds him hot…

Good-natured and irresponsible, Sheldon’s grandmother makes it pretty clear she’s not here to babysit, kids cramp her style, she’s gonna get laid (despite her age), she has an active social life, and who cares what the kids get up to? She doesn’t cook, she doesn’t want to be tied down, she gets bored with things easily, and she finds her grandkids hilarious. She spends most of her time dissing her son-in-law and screwing with him, such as when she sends him all over the place to find ingredients to make her brisket, and it’s not even the right recipe! Meemaw finds most things pretty hilarious, and isn’t afraid to get up in people’s faces, either. She tends to think Sheldon is a wuss and that her son-in-law is a fat, un-ambitious loser.
